CATALOGUE REPRINT - CONCERT P.A. STACK

The above scan is from a catalogue and ad campaign produced by Hylight Electronics (circa 1976) for the newly-designed CONCERT P.A. SYSTEM.

This was HIWATT'S entry into a market that was at that time dominated in the U.K. and Europe by WEM/Watkins and Martin.

Each stack in the system was comprised of 2 - 200 Watt Bass Bins (based on Altec's "Voice of the Theatre" design),which featured a 15" Driver made by ATC (Acoustic Transducer Co.),Britains version of Gauss and JBL - a 200 Watt Mid Bin with a 12" ATC speaker - a 100 Watt Celestion Horn enclosure - and a Motorola Tweeter array.

The rack-mounted power amplifiers (NCS108 & NCS208),were part of the "TUBESTATE" series of Hybird amplifiers that were developed for HIWATT by Nigel Collin.

The CONCERT P.A. SYSTEM was manufactured and sold primarily for the European market, although a few units did make it over to the U.S. in 1978 through EMI/HIWATT, HIWATT'S U.S. distributor at the time.
